Mr. Weingrad joined the firm in 1973 and became a partner in 1979. Since 1991 he has practiced independently in an of counsel capacity to the firm. His practice is concentrated in the commercial real estate area and includes the representation of developers, general contractors and owners of apartment projects, office buildings, hotels, assisted living facilities, strip shopping centers and other retail facilities. Mr. Weingrad also has extensive experience in the field of “affordable housing.” He represents numerous developers, non-profit sponsors, FHA-approved institutional lenders and general contractors in the development, financing, construction and rehabilitation of HUD-assisted multi-family apartment housing, housing for the elderly, nursing homes and housing for the disabled. He also acts as an advisor/trustee for several HUD-assisted 202 (elderly) and 811 (disabled) housing projects in the Cleveland area.
Mr. Weingrad is a former Peace Corps volunteer (Colombia, S.A. – 1963 through 1966) and served with the U.S. Army from 1966 through 1968.
