KJK’s Litigation Practice Group approaches matters with the philosophy of providing innovative representation that recognizes business realities and is both economical and responsive to our clients’ individual needs. We strive to find the best business resolution to our clients’ legal matters through the assessment of the case merits, as litigation is often the last resort. Though we regularly win substantial victories for our clients, success is often measured by business decisions that impact how a client should proceed. Our attorneys understand that litigation can be time-consuming, emotionally stressful and expensive. Accordingly, the litigation strategy we choose will be informed, first and foremost, by your business strategy – our goal is not to litigate for litigation’s sake but to achieve the right solution for our client. We can often prevent a lawsuit through judicious negotiation and counseling.
The litigation team has experience in the successful resolution of a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters, including construction, contracts, creditor disputes, employment issues, fraud, securities and shareholder litigation. We are also experienced in representing national broker-dealers, clearing firms and individual brokers in securities arbitration work. KJK maintains a substantial litigation practice with a strong regional and national reputation in such engagements. We have litigated in state and federal courts throughout the United States and advised clients on litigation matters pending in jurisdictions outside the United States including Spain, the Channel Islands, the UK, and the British Virgin Islands. Our attorneys are comfortable litigating a wide range of matters, from highly complex, multiparty disputes to two party contract matters.
