big litigation

Facing significant litigation as a small company can be a scary prospect. Many small businesses may have handled minor litigation matters at some point, but the first big litigation that comes their way can quickly become a crisis, with a stressed management team losing focus on the business, employees worrying about job security, and investors and lenders expressing concern.

KJK partner Brett Krantz will participate in the panel “Small Companies Facing Big Litigation” at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17, alongside three general counsels of small businesses who have faced this challenge. Brett’s witty yet relevant comments will touch upon:

  • The special role of the general counsel to help keep the company moving forward and focused on bringing shareholder/ownership value
  • How general counsels can help senior management both understand litigation from a business perspective and teach them to manage the emotional roller-coaster that big litigation brings
  • The steps general counsels can take now to get prepared for big litigation
