May 2, 2017

On Tuesday, April 25th, KJK Associate Melissa A. Yasinow had the opportunity to speak with ten young leaders from Bulgaria at a networking breakfast hosted by the Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA). The “Youth Leadership in Bulgaria” is a State Department-sponsored project that provided these visitors with exposure to young professionals who are the “movers and shakers” of the Cleveland community – in business, the nonprofit sector, and particularly in government. Bulgarian youth leaders included journalists, youth ambassadors, and government-affiliated youth program officers.

Yasinow had a positive impact on the youth leaders. “Thank you again for taking part in the networking breakfast – our visitors thought it was one of the best sessions they attended in Cleveland. Several of them even mentioned you by name specifically. We are very fortunate that you were able to attend and influence our visitors in such a positive way,” said Katie Ferman, Program Officer of the International Visitors Programs.

“It was wonderful to get a chance to meet so many young leaders from Bulgaria, and to speak with them about the importance of political engagement. It made me very happy to see that there are so many people from the next generation eager to carry the mantle of progress and democracy.” – Melissa A. Yasinow
