The law firm of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz P.L.L. is proud to announce that Susan O. Scheutzow joins the firm as a partner and Chair of the firm’s new Healthcare practice group.

Susan is the former Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel at Southwest General.  She has represented Southwest General for 25 years, the majority of those years as outside counsel, until she became their in-house counsel in 2002.

Managing partner of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz, Marc C. Krantz, said, “Susan brings a wealth of health care knowledge to the firm.  We are proud and excited that Susan will be the first Chair of our Healthcare practice group.  With our region’s leadership in healthcare, KJK expects to be able to further that leadership role with Susan at the helm.”  One of Susan’s major accomplishments includes a book that she wrote titled, “Ohio Health Care Provider Law,” which is still used by health law attorneys across the state. She taught the first Health Law course offered by Cleveland State University’s Cleveland Marshall College of Law and served on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association.  She is a Fellow of the American Health Lawyers Association; has received many awards, including Distinguished Women in Healthcare from the Visiting Nurse Association; and has authored numerous law review articles and monographs. Susan will continue to represent Southwest General on matters.

Susan received her law degree from Capital University Law School, a Masters degree in political science from The Ohio State University, and her undergraduate degree in political science and psychology from Kent State University.

“Establishing a new practice Healthcare group greatly adds to our long list of professional services that we can offer and fits well with the demands we are experiencing from our current and prospective clients.  We look forward to the added value that Susan will be able to bring to our firm and our clients,” added Marc Krantz.
